To further enhance the professional skills of workshop welders and strengthen Dongyue Automobile Manufacturing’s safety and quality safeguards, on July 15, 2025, the Comprehensive Management Department and the Quality Control Department of Dongyue Group jointly organized a half‑day specialized welding training session. The event was attended by leaders including Vice General Manager Zang Changming and Assistant to the General Manager Jia Xiaowei, as well as more than 100 key welders from various business units. Prior to the commencement of the course, Assistant to the General Manager Jia Xiaowei delivered an address: “Welding plays a pivotal role in our company’s production process, and welders’ skill levels directly impact product quality, production efficiency, and even the company’s long-term development. Therefore, we have created this learning platform to help you acquire new knowledge and contribute to the company’s growth. I wish this training every success.”
This training session focuses on the core requirements of welding processes in the specialized vehicle manufacturing sector, employing a three‑dimensional approach that combines intensive theoretical instruction, hands‑on demonstration, and assessment. Senior technician Yan Peijun from the Group’s Quality Control Department served as the instructor for the theoretical component, while master craftsmen Lu Hengjian, Li Wenjun, Sun Chen, Yan Yongwang, and Wang Hongchuan from various business units acted as practical‑skills instructors. During the theoretical sessions, Instructor Yan addressed the welding requirements for critical components such as frame structures, cargo bodies, sheet metal, profiles, and rectangular tubes, explaining the principles behind parameter optimization, common welding symbols, welding techniques, and deformation‑prevention strategies. He also provided an in‑depth analysis of preventive measures and corrective procedures for typical defects, including weld distortion, porosity, and cracking. Through case studies, participants gained a clear understanding that adherence to standardized procedures is the cornerstone of both safety and quality.
The hands-on session was a truly rigorous, real‑world test. At the training site, participants eagerly raised their hands to answer the instructors’ questions, and the trainers meticulously corrected each detail—whether it was welding speed, current control, or weld bead formation. In automotive manufacturing, every weld point directly impacts vehicle performance and safety, so uniform welds with adequate penetration are essential. In particular, Instructor Li Wenjun’s principle of “continuous improvement, never settling for mere compliance” prompted deep reflection on how to make welds more aesthetically pleasing, stronger, and more efficient. By relentlessly refining welding processes and striving for excellence, the goal is to make “Dongyue Manufacturing” synonymous with outstanding quality, enhance the company’s brand, and bring the event to a thrilling climax.
During the final assessment at the end of the training, participants completed their exams within the allotted time. The Technical Department and the Management Department reviewed the papers, and the rate of outstanding performance exceeded 90%. Among them, five colleagues were recognized as Quality Role Models for May: Liu Guangxuan, Zhang Qinglong, Lu Hengjian, Shao Zhu, and Zhang Zhanfeng from the Special Vehicle Business Unit, and Wang Yi from the Road & Bridge Business Unit.
Through this training, participants have gained a more systematic understanding of welding processes. Whereas they previously relied on experience, they now grasp the underlying principles behind each parameter, giving them greater confidence in their work. In closing, Comrade Zang Changming, Deputy General Manager of the Group, offered high praise, noting that the training not only enhanced the professional skills of the welders but also strengthened quality awareness across the entire workforce. Moving forward, the Group will continue to organize similar skill‑development programs and build platforms for ongoing competency enhancement, leveraging a commitment to craftsmanship to inject robust momentum into the high‑quality development of Dongyue’s manufacturing sector.
